The Sunshine Blogger Award

I’ve never participated in a book tag on my blog so today marks an important first! I was tagged by the lovely Helen ( first and then by Moon on Twitter, ( so I’ve been extremely fortunate! That means I get DOUBLE QUESTIONS!

Helen’s Questions:

  1. Favourite book when you growing up?

Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White – My dad gave me his old copy. I also loved Michael Morpurgo’s Kensuke’s Kingdom and the A Series of Unfortunate Events books by Lemony Snicket.

2. Which 3 fictional characters are you most like?

Tonks, but maybe only when she gets called ‘nymphadora’ – I have a wee temper, plus: Hufflepuff, plus clumsiness. Tonks. Also, maybe, Neville. Maybe a sprinkle of Ron in there too? I don’t know, this is a hard question! (but I love it!)

Gimli, son of Glóin , – My whole family is taller than I am and I’m bitter about it. and again, ‘temper, temper.’

Jo, Little Women. Though the girls have such defined personalities that I might be a blend. Jo is definitely the predominant personality in me though.

3. Who would you fancast as your favourite characters?

I think Eleanor Tomlinson would make a great Elain (A Court of Thorns and Roses) – I also love Aidan Turner so he could be my Rhysand. But mostly because I just love him and I’ve not seen the right fancast for this one yet. Tom Hardy would act the part fabulously but he’s just a bit too cute, I’m not sure he can be scary enough.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would make a dashing Tamlin for sure.

4. Which book is underhyped, and that you want everyone to read?

I don’t know if I’d consider Little Women ‘underhyped’ but I feel like more people should read it. It’s so wholesome and lovely. I’d like to hear more people’s opinions of Eon by Alison Goodman. My online friend Rachel is a big advocate of the series and I thoroughly enjoyed the first book.

5. Which book is overhyped, and is really not as good as everyone says?

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

6. What/who inspired you to start blogging?

A 3 year reading and writing slump whilst at uni, studying English.

7. How long have you been blogging?

1 Year (Nov 4th 2016)

8. How many books are on your tbr?

7 Billion, 813 million, 710 thousand, 541. (approx 😉 )

9. Do you like to listen to music whilst reading? And if so, do you pick certain artists/songs to match the book?

Nope, and nope. I am not a talented multi-tasker.

10.Which book(s) do you wish you had written?

I mean Harry Potter, obviously. But also Ink and Bone – though I might’ve tweaked it.

11.What book did you most recently finish, what are you reading now, and what do you think you’ll pick to read next?

Vicious – V.E. Schwab, Warcross – Marie Lu, Good Wives – Louisa May Alcott

Moon’s Questions:

  1. Which character would you want to be your best friend? Why?

Mor (ACOTAR) or Alice (Twilight)

2. Who/what inspires you to create/write?

Every author of every book I’ve ever loved.

3. Do you read one book at a time or multitasking?

Most often I just read one but I find reading two at once helps me get through slumps

4. What book do you think I should read and why?

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden if you haven’t already! It is just a wonderful and compelling story. Shame he named his source really – made a real mess of things.

5. Which character do you love to hate? Or if you don’t hate one, who is your favourite villain?

6. Do you cover buy? Why?

Yes, I have this delusional notion that good books have good marketing teams. I’m, of course, wrong to think that – the best writers often go undiscovered for yonks. Sad really. But, also, they look pretty on my bookshelf so…

7. If you could move to a bookish world/place, which one would you choose? Why?

Velaris probably, it sounds like a wonderful paradise.

8. Trope/cliche you love?

Baddies turned goodies. Love triangles done well.

9. Trope/cliche you hate?

“it was all a dream” and “He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding” like, lets all assume that at this point we know our own lungs.

10. What is your favourite part about blogging?

Hitting the ‘post’ button and feeling this immense pride that I’ve done something other than think about food and/or napping.

11. Who inspires you the most in your life?

Ordinary people. Life is hard – if you’ve done okay today that’s pretty inspiring in my book. Also, astronauts.
